Review-CoolSculpting at Halley Body Slimming Clinic

Hi All!! I’m back with some updates on the recent CoolSculpting treatment that I’ve gone through and I’m SO GLAD to have done those.

The fats and concerns on my thigh/bottoms have always been an issue- maybe I was born with fatter genes OR maybe I eat way too much for my body to digest! I always end up with fats sinking into my thigh and will grow abit chubbier after feasting for 2 weeks in a row. It’s really difficult to maintain my figure now that I’m a mother of 2 (And been through 2 births). My skin is just way looser compared to before.

Thank goodness I tried CoolSculpting. CoolSculpting is a non-surgical, non-invasive and no downtime fat reduction treatment that works like wonder!

The treatment uses an applicator to freeze up your fats and destroy those unwanted fat cells. It actually removes 20-25% of fat cells in the treated area each time. And because our body is unable to produce any new fat cells after five years of age, the fat cells that die after fat freezing will be gone forever!!! This treatment is often used on spots or areas that exercising are unable to help tone. After the treatment, your body will dispose them out of the body naturally in about 3 months’ time.

The common areas that can be treated includes the abdomen, love handles, inner and outer thighs, arms, bra fat, back, banana rolls (below the butt cheeks), knees, and even the double chin and cheeks.

03 Consultation

Dr Terence Tan of Halley Body Slimming Clinic prescribed a total of 10 CoolSculpting applicators to treat the stubborn fats in my inner thighs and banana rolls. 6 applicators (3 on each side) was applied to my inner thighs and 4 applicators (2 on each side) are applied to my banana rolls. (Banana rolls are the bulges of fats underneath your buttocks if you don’t already know).

The Pre and Post Treatment Process

Prior to the treatment, Dr Terence Tan used the CoolSculpting templates to mark out the areas of my concerns that require the fat freezing treatment.

This process will be customized and personalized for every individuals. For myself, as you can see, it is marked mostly in the inner thighs and the banana rolls underneath my buttocks.

Once we have marked out the areas, the therapist then helped to place gel pads onto the marked areas. These gel pads are really cold but they help to protect our skin during the treatment. As the name suggest, CoolSculpting can be very very cold!!

07 During treatment

After which, the applicators are placed on the areas and Dr Tan would activate the machine (Set to a 35 minutes timer) to start freezing the fats. The fatty bulges got sucked up entirely into the applicator and the freezing then begin. To be honest, I was freezing the first 10minutes of it BUT it eventually began to feel numb and I feel more comfortable after. Kudos to the therapists at Halley Body Slimming Clinic cause they really took care of me! They brought blankets to make sure I’m kept warm and even brought me hot milo 🙂

08 Massage after treatment

After the timer is complete and the treatment cycle ends, the therapist would remove the applicator and massages to even out the frozen area (It’s uncomfortable cause it’s like a frozen block but the massage helped alot). This step helps to speed up the breakdown of the crystallized dead fat cells so it can be passed out by the body naturally.

Can I just say the result is AMAZING, I also kept my diet to the minimum for 1-2 weeks and exercise rather regularly.

10 Reviewing results after three months

Here’s the BEFORE and AFTER photo of CoolSculpting- 3 months after the actual treatment:

You can see very obvious gaps in my front and inner thigh! I’m standing in the exact width from the first photo taken and it’s a lot of difference!! Also, the cellulite near the banana rolls under my buttocks is obviously lesser and has a smoother and uplifted effect.

With the right treatment plan from an experienced doctor, you will be able to see the changes that you want.

Lastly, the treatment price varies because everyone has different needs and might need different amount of applicators. My treatment totals up to $6,300 (Price includes GST).

Recently, I went back to my favourite French-theme boutique salon, you can read all about my first treatment here.

As a mum of two, with a proper office job, and with loads and loads of activities planned out of it, I am TRULY STRESSED. I experience lack of sleep which leads to dull and tired skin.

As usual, I was greeted really well by the consultant, who served me my favourite cup of yuzu tea, and then we proceed to the 2nd storey for treatment.

This time round, I was brought into the Lavender Room, whose light is dimmed and slightly dark purpleish. The decorations made the room relaxing and comfortable.

The treatment started with a welcome massage, and I chose rose oil this time round!

My skin was deep cleansed with their Cocoa Beans Peeling Scrub “Gommage Aux Feves De Cacao”. It effectively helps to get rid of the dead skin on my face since the last visit.

A facial massage was done with their Cocoa Butter “Beurre de Cacao”, which is is highly nourishing!

Here comes my favourite part, the CHOCOLATE MASK!!!

They used the “Fondue Au Chocolat” and have it spread all over my face! I feel so hungry at the same time because the chocolate smells so great!

Soon, my face is all covered in chocolate and the consultant even told me to lick some off my lips and boy, the chocolate quality is real good.

Of course, apart from being real yummy, the chocolate mask contains protective, anti-free radical and antioxidants components which helps in restoring a healthy glow on my face!

After which, the Cocoa Nectar “Nectar Au Cocoa”, was applied on my face which helps to hydrates and tone my skin.

The entire treatment was ended off with a layer of Chocolate Nutriprotective Tinted Cream, that helps to provides an even and natural tanned complexion. You can see it from this picture!!SAM_6890_mr1527169180911-01

Conclusion:

What I like most about this treatment, other than being able to EAT the chocolate itself (YESSSSS!!!!), is that it helps to repair and detoxify my skin, protects and nourish them further.

At the end of the facial, I can see a clearer and brighter complexion, and my skin is truly soft and supple!

I tried the Bioderma Sebium Range recently and am impressed by how it kept my skin oil free and more maintainable throughout the day!

My skin’s texture also improves tremendously! It’s now smoother and my pores felt smaller!

The Bioderma Sebium Lotion is a toner suitable for oily/combination skin. It’s formulated to specially soothe and treat oily skin- Asian Skin.

Being an Asian girl, who lives in sunny Singapore, my skin produces more oil than usual due to the weather, which makes it difficult to maintain my makeup through the day.

The Sebium Lotion contains active ingredients to help regulates our skin’s PH to a healthy level. It also helps to reduce sebum production and has anti-bacterial properties!!

It’s really amazing because i have never used any moisturisers with a matt and anti-shine concept.

The Sebium Mat Control promises 8 hours long of shine control and smooth effect, and provides up to 12 hours long of hydration. It also ensures clear complexion and smooth skin after using it for more than 7 days. It is said that the Zinc Gluconate and Vitamin B6 ingredients would have helped in long run control by reducing sebum productions.

It also minimize the appearance of large pores and aims to refine skin’s texture with help of Salicylic Acid.

When I first stepped into J Studios, I immediately felt comfortable and pampered, believe it or not, the ambiance do matters!

I explored the first storey a little and found myself really liking the manicure and pedicure zone! Or maybe, I’m just attracted by the really pretty lighted mirror.

Well greeted by their service staff, we proceeded to the upper storey after changing into slippers provided by them.

I was brought to a really cozy room, and changed into their robes, awaiting the session to start!

I did their Signature Oxygen Deep Cleansing Facial, which is their best selling treatment.

This treatment is suitable for all skin types and can immediately show results, leaving you with a brightened skin tone and glowing radiant after.

May I also bring out the point that if you are a makeup junkie like me, cleansing is important as we stack makeup on our face every day, resulting in clogged pores. Our face is never really clean unless we deep cleanse and remove all the impurities left behind.

The beautician removed my makeup and does a thorough cleansing. I was given a shoulder massage with my favourite lavender oil scent!

Then, extraction happened. My face was clogged with all kinds of dirt because I have just finished my confinement. (Trust me, confinement gives you no time for maintaining your skin because..baby FIRST!)

The first step to this treatment is Oxygen deep cleansing.

Basically, the Oxygen Facial delivers oxygen, moisturizer, vitamins, and antioxidants, replenishing nutrients to the skin using an airbrush. The pressure and serum help to deep cleanse and plump our skin, minimizing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, while increasing blood circulation to boosting collagen production and skin whitening.

The treatment also provides relief and effective acne clearance for troubled skin, and fighting signs of aging skin, leaving your skin clean, smooth, and radiant.

Next, serum was applied to my face with a cold ultrasonic machine for further hydrating and nourishing.

The ultrasonic machine is a cold plate device which helps heighten the absorption of the serum! Feels good on the face too, since its cold:)

Lastly, a rose facial mask to wrap up the session!

The rose mask has hydrating and anti-aging benefits, and it’s so relaxing that I fell asleep.

Protect your family from harmful chlorine: SONAKI Vitamin C filter showerhead

I think I’m really aging when I suddenly care more about my family’s health more than anything. And having a toddler and husband with bad skin, the more I want to find solutions to help improve their conditions!

So, my husband has eczema, and I think it sort of passed on a bit of those bad genes to Aaron because whenever he has a mosquito bite and scratch the hell out of it, it leaves a really bad scar. Well, at least he doesn’t really have eczema so… I am grateful!

SONAKI sells VITAMIN C filter showerhead, which filters away 99.9% of the harmful chlorine that’s found in our tap water.

This is where I found out that Singapore’s tap water actually contains an average of 2.45 mg/l of chlorine (Similar to the amount that’s found in swimming pools). This is really bad because we all know how harmful chlorine can be for our hair and skin!

So, I put the showerhead to test for at least 3 days.

I find that the water seems less drying, and makes my skin smoother.

How does it work? Once the water goes through the filter, the Vitamin C dissolves into the water and neutralized 99.9% of all chlorine and chloramines present in the water.

It’s also easy to install! Simply remove your existing shower head and plug this in.

Post-treatment review of Face Rejuvenation Laser at Halley Medical Aesthetics

How time flies! Fast forward 3 months and I’m back for a post-treatment review with Dr. Terence Tan at Halley Medical Aesthetics! I’ve almost forgotten about this because the treatment area recovered so well after only 4-5 days.

As mentioned in my previous post, the spot faded after just 1 session!

So, let me recap a little.

If you have any pigmentation (Spots or freckles) and would like to have them removed, do consider trying out the Face Rejuvenation Laser Treatment at Halley!

I had a big freckle spot on the upper left of my cheek since primary school days. It was there on my face for as long as I could remember, so much so that I thought it was a birth mark only to find out from Dr. Terence Tan that it wasn’t one. Therefore to remove it, I went ahead with a Face Rejuvenation Laser Treatment for Pigmentation.

During the review, I updated Dr. Terence Tan that once the post-laser scab peeled off, the treated area was entirely clear. It’s amazing how 1 session removed the spot by close to 80%!

Dr. Terence Tan also explained that more sessions are often required to remove pigmentations and for me, maybe 1 more session will help to clear the spot off entirely.

From the front view, you can see very CLEARLY how faint/faded the freckle spot is! The other random small spots have lightened as well and my face is also more rejuvenated. You can see that the laser has evened out and brightened my skin and the lines from the side of my nose are no longer as deep.

Amazing, isn’t it? So it’s true, you don’t have to spend a fortune to remove your pigmentations, which is a misconception I always had when I’m younger.

After all, no two skin types are alike. Their consultation fees are really affordable too, at $10 on weekdays from 10am-4pm and $25 on weekdays after 4pm. If you are a busy bee, you can go for a weekend consultation at $50 all day too. What’s more, this amount will be waived if you decide to go ahead with a treatment.

Eyelash Extensions and Facial at Emerald Allure [Roxy Square]- Singapore

Hi All! Remember the Eyebrow Embroidery that I did with Emerald Allure?

This week, I went to their new Roxy Square outlet to complete the look with a new set of Eyelash Extensions and a pampering Facial Session! I decided not to touch up my brows due to Baby Number 2!

If you girls heard of Emerald Allure, they used to be a home-based salon located at Punggol (Yes it’s still there).

Today, they opened 2 outlets in Roxy Square, providing nail services, facial sessions, and lash extensions. I think they have expanded well!

Well, let me show you more of my pretty lashes, i took one whole series on these precious.*wink*

My lashes are length 12mm, with a mix of longer/shorter lashes. You can actually leave it to them to customize your lashes for you, with a choice of longer lash ends or longer mid lashes in the centre.

Of course, I also did a facial over there, which means settling 2 beauty services at once conveniently at the outlet!

It’s a humble new outlet, but definitely, the lash/nail advisors there are skilled!

So…. My lashes and facial are done by Vivi, and I really enjoyed the facial session. It’s basic facial but Vivi is so patient that she really cleaned my face really thorough and well?

Face Rejuvenation for Pigmentation at Halley Medical Aesthetics

Hi everyone!

As you know, recently I had done filler treatments with Dr. Terence Tan of Halley Medical Aesthetics and I’m really pleased with the results. Therefore, I’m back for another type of treatment, to help enhance my facial appearance further.

We reviewed the previous filler treatment done as it takes a while for the injected filler to settle down. We looked at the overall improvements to my facial appearance to determine the overall effectiveness of the treatment.

I’m glad to say that the improvements made to my face are recognizable.

Just look at the pictures side by side! On the right picture, people can immediately point out the differences as compared to the past.

After this, Dr. Terence Tan and I discussed how to use laser for face rejuvenation.

I’ve had freckles since primary school days, moreover, going under the sun for sports activities had affected my freckles spot. They basically grew bigger and became more obvious over time. To add on, my recent prewedding photoshoot was done under direct sunlight by the sea, and when I’m back from the trip, my facial technician noticed and pointed out to me that my pigmentation issue became worse.

It used to not bother me too much, but now, I’m really determined to get rid of my freckles!

As you can see from the picture, I also have a big mark on the left side of my face that I thought could be a birth mark, but I can’t deny of the possibility of it being a big freckle spot.

For those who have freckles, I’m sure you know how I feel. Even when our skin is in tip top conditions (smooth and clean), nobody will have the impression that our skin is really good, because of the messy spots all over our face.

So, to begin, we started off with a consultation for treating my pigmentation using laser.

Dr. Terence Tan explained that his Face Rejuvenation for Pigmentation treatment involves the use of the Q Switched Nd:YAG laser to remove or lighten pigmentation on the face.

This laser treatment will lighten my café au lait spots or pigmented birthmarks as well as pigments caused by sun exposure (or solar lentigo).  He also assured me that the laser treatment will not be painful and I will barely feel it, with the help of numbing cream.

Dr. Terence Tan would also do a no downtime laser rejuvenation treatment at the same time, which will even out the skin tone by lightening pigmentation and reduce pore size.

To begin, the medical assistant removed my makeup and applied the numbing cream on the areas to be treated, which is most of my face.

We waited approximately 20 minutes for the numbing cream to work before we proceed.

In the following set of pictures, you can see Dr. Terence Tan treating the 2 obvious freckles spots with the laser. One on my left cheek and the other 3 smaller ones on my right cheek.

The flash from the laser is really bright and I have to put on these “shades” to protect my eyes. However, rest assured, I felt totally no pain at all.

Dr. Terence Tan then proceeded to use the laser to treat the smaller, less visible freckles. And finally he switched the laser to rejuvenation mode. All these will combine to even out my skin tone, reduce pore size, and firm my face at the same time.

In this laser process, I also didn’t feel any pain.

I detected a slight burning smell when Dr. Terence Tan treated my entire face because of the multiple small spots that required treatment. Fret not still! It’s just my facial hair burning up, and it’s not dangerous at all.

From the picture below, you can see that the bigger freckle had turned slightly red after the laser treatment.

After the session, Dr. Terence Tan told me although the treated spots will turn darker each day, there is nothing to worry about as it will resolve within five to seven days. In the meantime, I can still continue to put on makeup and use concealer to cover the spot!

I’m not that concerned with the dark spots because there are only 2 relatively small areas that are affected and I can still cover them with my concealer!

To ensure good recovery, Dr. Terence Tan told me not to expose myself to strong sunlight post treatment, and to put on proper sunblock till the dark spot dry up and drop off on its own.

Also, depending on the patient’s condition, more than one treatment may be required. Dr. Terence Tan also gave me some cream to apply over the next 3 days on both spots that turned red to make that it recovers well.

Guess what?

I did the Treatment on a Monday, and the dark spots fell off entirely on Friday!

I’m really glad that it took only 4 days to fall off.

I’m sorry because I have no proper pic of the darkened spots, I simply cover up with concealer so it’s really not obvious!

In the following pic, I have pointed out the dark spots, on the last day before everything fell off. They have lightened up considerably.

And now, I have really clear and beautiful skin!

As for the spots, they’re gone within 1 session!

I now have clearer, brighter and less pigmented skin! I’m so glad I went ahead with this treatment with Dr. Terence Tan.
