Pretty Nail Wraps from Nailsicle

I always love a set of nicely done nails, but with so little time and restrictions on the types of nails that can be done as a mother of 2, i simply stop going to nail parlours.

With delight, I was introduced to Nailsicle, an online brand that sells pretty nail wraps!

After much consideration, I’ve decided to put on this girly pink/purple/flowerish style to go along with my makeup. You’ll see later:)

Following the instructions, I’ve picked a nail wrap that is appropriate for my thumb nail and carefully stick it on. You can view the step by step below, it’s really simple!

And in no time, i’m done pasting all the nail stickers on my fingers:)

Some tips after i’ve tried putting them on:

Make sure your hands are completely dry/non-oily.
Stick the nail wraps properly if not it’s going to keep coming off
If you have short nails like me, one nail wrap sticker can actually be used twice. (YES I used the same designs FOR BOTH my right and left hand)
When you file the excess nail wrap off, press it down properly once first, so it gets nicely cut off
Do not press too hard on the nail wraps because they are very soft and easily torn
My nails are quite small, so I’m still left with so many bigger wraps which i won’t be able to use unless i cut them myself. I suggest giving the rest of the wraps to another person whose nails are bigger!

What i like about Nailsicle is that their nail wraps are made from REAL Nail Polish so it looks super natural and the ingredients are safe for our hands!

J Studios Beauty Salon: Bernard Cassiere Chocolate Anti-stress Facial

Recently, I went back to my favourite French-theme boutique salon, you can read all about my first treatment here.

This time round, I tried their Award winning Chocolate Anti-stress Facial Treatment!!

I don’t know how a chocolate facial sounds to you, but it sure sound enticing to me!

The Bernard Cassiere Chocolate Anti-stress facial is formulated with cocoa extracts, which are rich in antioxidants and anti-radical.

The relaxing treatment is recommended for dull skins and for the face-paced adults who lived a highly stressed urban lifestyle.

In this city of ours, stressed skin is often caused by environmental damage, and certain lifestyle habits in our daily routine. And you know what, this totally sounds like me! As a mum of two, with a proper office job, and with loads and loads of activities planned out of it, I am TRULY STRESSED. I experience lack of sleep which leads to dull and tired skin.

As usual, I was greeted really well by the consultant, who served me my favourite cup of yuzu tea, and then we proceed to the 2^nd storey for treatment.

This time round, I was brought into the Lavender Room, whose light is dimmed and slightly dark purpleish. The decorations made the room relaxing and comfortable.

The treatment started with a welcome massage, and I chose rose oil this time round!

My skin was deep cleansed with their Cocoa Beans Peeling Scrub “Gommage Aux Feves De Cacao”. It effectively helps to get rid of the dead skin on my face since the last visit.

A facial massage was done with their Cocoa Butter “Beurre de Cacao”, which is is highly nourishing!

Here comes my favourite part, the CHOCOLATE MASK!!!

They used the “Fondue Au Chocolat” and have it spread all over my face! I feel so hungry at the same time because the chocolate smells so great!

Soon, my face is all covered in chocolate and the consultant even told me to lick some off my lips and boy, the chocolate quality is real good.

Of course, apart from being real yummy, the chocolate mask contains protective, anti-free radical and antioxidants components which helps in restoring a healthy glow on my face!

After which, the Cocoa Nectar “Nectar Au Cocoa”, was applied on my face which helps to hydrates and tone my skin.

The entire treatment was ended off with a layer of Chocolate Nutriprotective Tinted Cream, that helps to provides an even and natural tanned complexion. You can see it from this picture!!

Conclusion:

What I like most about this treatment, other than being able to EAT the chocolate itself (YESSSSS!!!!), is that it helps to repair and detoxify my skin, protects and nourish them further.

At the end of the facial, I can see a clearer and brighter complexion, and my skin is truly soft and supple!

Overall, I love the facial! And I think you girls should try it! It’s seriously pampering! They even ended it off with a chocolate drink! How thoughtful!

Bioderma Sebium Range: Shine Control

I tried the Bioderma Sebium Range recently and am impressed by how it kept my skin oil free and more maintainable throughout the day!

My skin’s texture also improves tremendously! It’s now smoother and my pores felt smaller!

The Bioderma Sebium Lotion is a toner suitable for oily/combination skin. It’s formulated to specially soothe and treat oily skin- Asian Skin.

Being an Asian girl, who lives in sunny Singapore, my skin produces more oil than usual due to the weather, which makes it difficult to maintain my makeup through the day.

The Sebium Lotion contains active ingredients to help regulates our skin’s PH to a healthy level. It also helps to reduce sebum production and has anti-bacterial properties!!

Recently, I made time to visit J Studios, a pretty boutique salon located conveniently at Haji Lane.

This two-storey beauty salon has won my heart with its elegant interior design and a neo-classical French theme.

J Studios Beauty Salon provides services for the face, body, hair and other professional beauty treatments. What’s most amazing is that they’ve outgrown their home-based salon and expanded to 2 outstanding beauty salons today!

They’ve set up a relaxing and cozy corner as well, with their walls decorated with mini frames and a beautiful rose decorated wall. I also welcomed with a tasteful cup of yuzu tea!

When I first stepped into J Studios, I immediately felt comfortable and pampered, believe it or not, the ambiance do matters!

I explored the first storey a little and found myself really liking the manicure and pedicure zone! Or maybe, I’m just attracted by the really pretty lighted mirror.

Well greeted by their service staff, we proceeded to the upper storey after changing into slippers provided by them.

I was brought to a really cozy room, and changed into their robes, awaiting the session to start!

I did their Signature Oxygen Deep Cleansing Facial, which is their best selling treatment.

This treatment is suitable for all skin types and can immediately show results, leaving you with a brightened skin tone and glowing radiant after.

May I also bring out the point that if you are a makeup junkie like me, cleansing is important as we stack makeup on our face every day, resulting in clogged pores. Our face is never really clean unless we deep cleanse and remove all the impurities left behind.

The beautician removed my makeup and does a thorough cleansing. I was given a shoulder massage with my favourite lavender oil scent!

Then, extraction happened. My face was clogged with all kinds of dirt because I have just finished my confinement. (Trust me, confinement gives you no time for maintaining your skin because..baby FIRST!)

The first step to this treatment is Oxygen deep cleansing.

Basically, the Oxygen Facial delivers oxygen, moisturizer, vitamins, and antioxidants, replenishing nutrients to the skin using an airbrush. The pressure and serum help to deep cleanse and plump our skin, minimizing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, while increasing blood circulation to boosting collagen production and skin whitening.

The treatment also provides relief and effective acne clearance for troubled skin, and fighting signs of aging skin, leaving your skin clean, smooth, and radiant.

Next, serum was applied to my face with a cold ultrasonic machine for further hydrating and nourishing.

The ultrasonic machine is a cold plate device which helps heighten the absorption of the serum! Feels good on the face too, since its cold:)

Lastly, a rose facial mask to wrap up the session!

The rose mask has hydrating and anti-aging benefits, and it’s so relaxing that I fell asleep.

Can you see my skin transformed from such a dull and uneven skin tone, to a much brighter and even one??? This is amazing!!

Well well, the results are so good! My face looks brightened (Which is the point), and it’s so clear and clean!

It feels like prolonged usage will really help restore your skin!

This is amazing because the effect is seen immediately! And it feels good because we all know how gentle this mask is.

AOYAMA HAIR STUDIO: New Japanese Salon in Clementi Mall Singapore

To those who’re into Japanese haircuts, AOYAMA HAIR STUDIO is the salon to visit if you stay near the Clementi area.

As I’m currently pregnant, I did a Hair treatment and Hair Cut instead of the usual dye job.

Here’s a before after picture, and you can see that I’m satisfied with the results😊

JAPANESE SENIOR STYLIST CUT

I always believe that when you walk into a Salon, you must come out with something different, and not just a trim and cut.

Therefore, I told my hair stylist that I would like to cut my fringe, into Bangs instead!

My Hair Stylist’s name is Haruka (Yes, she’s a Jap!), and I’m very impressed by her thoughtfulness and the amount of effort she put into understanding what I’m looking for.

She bothers to explain to me what she’s going to cut before actually cutting, and making sure that I understood what she’s explaining as well.

Here, Step 1 down. How do I look with bangs?

MILBON GLOBAL HAIR TREATMENT

Next, we proceeded to do a 3 steps Hair Treatment.

Being explained well enough, the Milbon Hair Treatment is differentiated from other salons, because it aims to treat and repair the inside, rather than just the outside.

And after the treatment, our hair is supposed to turn out light and soft, BUT not oily, unlike the usual deep conditioning/oil treatments.

The hair stylists will also determine if your hair fall under the Fine, Medium, Course category and does the alteration to the treatment process for you!

The process took about lesser than an hour.

Lastly, my haircut session ended off with a simple styling.

So pretty right!! I love how light my hair felt after the treatment and how it’s indeed non-oily/greasy at all! Feels like it’s been treated right 😊

Prices:

-The Hair Cut by Senior Stylist cost about $50 (For female long hair)

-The Treatment cost about $180-$220, depending on your length and hair conditions.

I would say the prices are rather reasonable?

Yes, you read it right. Weekly masking is already a very important part of our skincare routine. But what if, we can make it more efficient?

The Acne cheek patch has an abundance of goodness in a patch itself. And why so, is because when I stick it on my cheek, I can literally feel the ingredients in it being absorbed into my skin. The feeling is oooohhh, so good.

These patches have certified clinical tests to proved effectiveness for troubled or acne skin. With its anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial effects, it’s definitely your trouble relieving solutions to the irritated skin.

It is most recommended to use these patches when your acne occurs continuously, or after popping a pimple, when a pimple is actually painful and if you’re looking for immediate solutions to curing the outbreak.

A box contains 16 patches. Remember to apply your toner before applying these patches on!

REVITAL EYE PATCH

The Revital Eye Patch can help restore and rejuvenate your delicate skin under the eye area! It has a nutrition moisturizing veil which fills the gap in the skin and therefore, provides long-lasting cooling effects and prevents any swelling!

Its main ingredients include Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin E and Bio Flavonoid. In this case, its hydrogel function stores the ingredients in and prevents the water contents from evaporating.

I would say i have REALLY dark circles so it’s also very useful for me! Remember to place these on for at least 2 hours! And for more if possible:)

Hi All! Remember the Eyebrow Embroidery that I did with Emerald Allure?

This week, I went to their new Roxy Square outlet to complete the look with a new set of Eyelash Extensions and a pampering Facial Session! I decided not to touch up my brows due to Baby Number 2!

Face Rejuvenation for Pigmentation at Halley Medical Aesthetics

Hi everyone!

As you know, recently I had done filler treatments with Dr. Terence Tan of Halley Medical Aesthetics and I’m really pleased with the results. Therefore, I’m back for another type of treatment, to help enhance my facial appearance further.

We reviewed the previous filler treatment done as it takes a while for the injected filler to settle down. We looked at the overall improvements to my facial appearance to determine the overall effectiveness of the treatment.

I’m glad to say that the improvements made to my face are recognizable.

Just look at the pictures side by side! On the right picture, people can immediately point out the differences as compared to the past.

After this, Dr. Terence Tan and I discussed how to use laser for face rejuvenation.

I’ve had freckles since primary school days, moreover, going under the sun for sports activities had affected my freckles spot. They basically grew bigger and became more obvious over time. To add on, my recent prewedding photoshoot was done under direct sunlight by the sea, and when I’m back from the trip, my facial technician noticed and pointed out to me that my pigmentation issue became worse.

It used to not bother me too much, but now, I’m really determined to get rid of my freckles!

As you can see from the picture, I also have a big mark on the left side of my face that I thought could be a birth mark, but I can’t deny of the possibility of it being a big freckle spot.

For those who have freckles, I’m sure you know how I feel. Even when our skin is in tip top conditions (smooth and clean), nobody will have the impression that our skin is really good, because of the messy spots all over our face.

So, to begin, we started off with a consultation for treating my pigmentation using laser.

Dr. Terence Tan explained that his Face Rejuvenation for Pigmentation treatment involves the use of the Q Switched Nd:YAG laser to remove or lighten pigmentation on the face.

This laser treatment will lighten my café au lait spots or pigmented birthmarks as well as pigments caused by sun exposure (or solar lentigo). He also assured me that the laser treatment will not be painful and I will barely feel it, with the help of numbing cream.

Dr. Terence Tan would also do a no downtime laser rejuvenation treatment at the same time, which will even out the skin tone by lightening pigmentation and reduce pore size.

To begin, the medical assistant removed my makeup and applied the numbing cream on the areas to be treated, which is most of my face.

We waited approximately 20 minutes for the numbing cream to work before we proceed.

In the following set of pictures, you can see Dr. Terence Tan treating the 2 obvious freckles spots with the laser. One on my left cheek and the other 3 smaller ones on my right cheek.

The flash from the laser is really bright and I have to put on these “shades” to protect my eyes. However, rest assured, I felt totally no pain at all.

Dr. Terence Tan then proceeded to use the laser to treat the smaller, less visible freckles. And finally he switched the laser to rejuvenation mode. All these will combine to even out my skin tone, reduce pore size, and firm my face at the same time.

In this laser process, I also didn’t feel any pain.

I detected a slight burning smell when Dr. Terence Tan treated my entire face because of the multiple small spots that required treatment. Fret not still! It’s just my facial hair burning up, and it’s not dangerous at all.

From the picture below, you can see that the bigger freckle had turned slightly red after the laser treatment.

After the session, Dr. Terence Tan told me although the treated spots will turn darker each day, there is nothing to worry about as it will resolve within five to seven days. In the meantime, I can still continue to put on makeup and use concealer to cover the spot!

I’m not that concerned with the dark spots because there are only 2 relatively small areas that are affected and I can still cover them with my concealer!

To ensure good recovery, Dr. Terence Tan told me not to expose myself to strong sunlight post treatment, and to put on proper sunblock till the dark spot dry up and drop off on its own.

Also, depending on the patient’s condition, more than one treatment may be required. Dr. Terence Tan also gave me some cream to apply over the next 3 days on both spots that turned red to make that it recovers well.

The Treatment that I did for Face Rejuvenation for Pigmentation costs $370 (includes GST).

Guess what?

I did the Treatment on a Monday, and the dark spots fell off entirely on Friday!

I’m really glad that it took only 4 days to fall off.

I’m sorry because I have no proper pic of the darkened spots, I simply cover up with concealer so it’s really not obvious!

In the following pic, I have pointed out the dark spots, on the last day before everything fell off. They have lightened up considerably.

And now, I have really clear and beautiful skin!

As for the spots, they’re gone within 1 session!

I now have clearer, brighter and less pigmented skin! I’m so glad I went ahead with this treatment with Dr. Terence Tan.

Korean Beauty Cosmetics: W. Lab is here in Singapore!

Yessss, W.LAB is finally here in Singapore!

W.Lab is a Korean cosmetic brand that emphasis on the use of natural ingredients and lesser chemical. It’s no wonder how this k brand has won our heart with their extensive range of makeup and skincare products.

Early this April, W.Lab held a launch party at the Bella K Beauty House, a premium Korean hair salon, with an allocated in house nail salon, Aresa Nails, to pamper us girls further!

I had a great time at the party and brought home a whole big bag of goodies to try!

Spoiled with choices I must say, here are the goodies that I’ve received from W.Lab.

The W.Lab Makeup and skincare range consist of:

Perfect for creating warm/smokey summer look, I personally love this palette so much!

Here’s a swatch of the colors, see those glittery shades? These colors are perfect for creating light, glamourous eyelooks!

W.LAB Flower Lip and Cheek Kit( 6 shades), W.LAB Color Master Cover Kit ( 6 concealer shades)

There are 6 different shades of red/pink in the Lip & Cheek Kit and the texture of the pigments are not too heavy so they don’t leave your skin/lip sticky or greasy.

I also love the concealers that come in 6 different shades! With the green covering redness, purple covering yellowness, a lightly formulated shade being the highlighter, a darker contour shade and the rest concealing your dark circles well enough.

W.LAB BLING BLING cheek Blusher

I think this compact blusher is really pretty as it comes with different shades of pink. I especially love the top part because it’s highlighter really shines well! However, if you’re looking for a stronger blush, you might have to use the Flower Cheek kit and then stroke these Bling Bling last because they give a rather natural healthy glow finishing.

W.LAB Daily Pocket Shadow Palette (8 shades)

The Pocket Daily Palette comes with 1 eye base, 2 brown shade and 5 glitter shades. It’s perfect for the daily use and convenient to bring around!

W.LAB Velvet Color Stick, Color Up Tint, One Day Henna Tint

Like I said, spoilt with choices, I was given 3 different type of lippies to try!

I love the velvet one! It has a creamy crayon texture and the color turns out really pigmented! If you’re someone who likes tint, you can try the other 2 range which is really lasting as well!

W.LAB Sebum Out Range (Highly recommended!!)

– Consists of Peel Off Pack, Finish Pact and Finish Powder

The Peel off Pack is great! I have tried! it’s not painful and effectively pulls out dirt and blackheads.

Same goes, The Sebum Out finish pact and powder is amazing!!!

Especially in hot countries like Singapore, we are most afraid to perspire in our makeup. The finish pact and powder helps correct our skintone and sebum out all surfaces on our skin to prep our face for a long lasting finish. Our makeup can now stay fresh all day long!

W.LAB Black Kill Range

The Black kill range consists of mainly pore cleaner and tightening pack. And the brush of the pore cleaner works really well with your pore cleaning! You can use it daily or once every 2 days.

Alright as a makeup junkie, I am really excited to play with these goodies and therefore, Here’s a Makeup of the day #MOTD that I have done up with the W.Lab products:

Below is a mini guide through process to create this endless summer sweet warm look 🙂

Products used:

FACE: SEBUM OUT FINISH PACT, BLOSSOM WHITE CUSHION- 21 Blossom Light

Girls, you’ll HAVE TO GET THIS.

The sebum out finish pact is a GEM (yes it literally contains gem complex powder)! After the usual skincare routine, I apply this sebum out pact all over my face to create a smooth setting before applying the Cushion pact. This product amazingly smoothens my skin, even uneven or rough areas like the sides of my nose, and all over my forehead area. This product can reduce sebum secretion, and provide skin texture correction and pore care immediately.

CONCEALER: COLOR MASTER COVER KIT (6 shades)

This concealer palette gives us variety, which is professional. The purple shade covers yellowness, and the green covers redness. The other shades of brown covers blemishes and acne. The lighter shade works like a highlighter and the dark brown works like contour.

EYE: POCKET SHADOW PALETTE- DAILY

This pocket palette comes with 1 Base Shade, 2 Brown Shades & 5 Glitter Colors and in silky-smooth texture! And i love the colors because they’re my usual! You can either go orangey-light or smokey brown.

I’ve created a Summer Coral, fun and sweet eye look.

First, I apply the Eye base(1). Then, I use the Bright Peach(3) on the inner lid, and Shine Coral(4) on the outer lid. In between blends, I use Shade Brown(7). Followed by the Highlighter shade(2) on the inner eye corner and the Mocha Brown(8) to define my outer lower lid to make my eyes wider and more awake.

CHEEKS: BLING BLING CHEEK- Pink, LIP & FLOWER CHEEK KIT (6 shades)

I can’t even… these BLING BLING CHEEK blusher is such a darling! In a single small compact, it comes in 3 different shades of pink and 1 highlighter shade. I can conveniently apply my blusher together with the highlighter shade on my upper cheek!

Tips: I even use the highlighter on my nose bridge!

Next, for me, I like my cheeks blushy pink, so I applied the rose pink (2) shade and spread it evenly on the apples of my cheeks for a slightly more pigmented blush.

LIPS: LIP & FLOWER CHEEK KIT

Same palette, multiple usage!

Now, I used the palette to create gradient lips by applying rose pink(2) on my whole lip and the dark red(6) shade in my inner lips.

My look is now complete!

Hope ya all like the look that I’ve created!:) There are too many products for me to try and I’ll be doing more reviews of the products in time to come!
