Eyelash Extensions and Facial at Emerald Allure [Roxy Square]- Singapore

Hi All! Remember the Eyebrow Embroidery that I did with Emerald Allure?

This week, I went to their new Roxy Square outlet to complete the look with a new set of Eyelash Extensions and a pampering Facial Session! I decided not to touch up my brows due to Baby Number 2!

Face Rejuvenation for Pigmentation at Halley Medical Aesthetics

Hi everyone!

As you know, recently I had done filler treatments with Dr. Terence Tan of Halley Medical Aesthetics and I’m really pleased with the results. Therefore, I’m back for another type of treatment, to help enhance my facial appearance further.

We reviewed the previous filler treatment done as it takes a while for the injected filler to settle down. We looked at the overall improvements to my facial appearance to determine the overall effectiveness of the treatment.

I’m glad to say that the improvements made to my face are recognizable.

Just look at the pictures side by side! On the right picture, people can immediately point out the differences as compared to the past.

After this, Dr. Terence Tan and I discussed how to use laser for face rejuvenation.

I’ve had freckles since primary school days, moreover, going under the sun for sports activities had affected my freckles spot. They basically grew bigger and became more obvious over time. To add on, my recent prewedding photoshoot was done under direct sunlight by the sea, and when I’m back from the trip, my facial technician noticed and pointed out to me that my pigmentation issue became worse.

It used to not bother me too much, but now, I’m really determined to get rid of my freckles!

As you can see from the picture, I also have a big mark on the left side of my face that I thought could be a birth mark, but I can’t deny of the possibility of it being a big freckle spot.

For those who have freckles, I’m sure you know how I feel. Even when our skin is in tip top conditions (smooth and clean), nobody will have the impression that our skin is really good, because of the messy spots all over our face.

So, to begin, we started off with a consultation for treating my pigmentation using laser.

Dr. Terence Tan explained that his Face Rejuvenation for Pigmentation treatment involves the use of the Q Switched Nd:YAG laser to remove or lighten pigmentation on the face.

This laser treatment will lighten my café au lait spots or pigmented birthmarks as well as pigments caused by sun exposure (or solar lentigo). He also assured me that the laser treatment will not be painful and I will barely feel it, with the help of numbing cream.

Dr. Terence Tan would also do a no downtime laser rejuvenation treatment at the same time, which will even out the skin tone by lightening pigmentation and reduce pore size.

To begin, the medical assistant removed my makeup and applied the numbing cream on the areas to be treated, which is most of my face.

We waited approximately 20 minutes for the numbing cream to work before we proceed.

In the following set of pictures, you can see Dr. Terence Tan treating the 2 obvious freckles spots with the laser. One on my left cheek and the other 3 smaller ones on my right cheek.

The flash from the laser is really bright and I have to put on these “shades” to protect my eyes. However, rest assured, I felt totally no pain at all.

Dr. Terence Tan then proceeded to use the laser to treat the smaller, less visible freckles. And finally he switched the laser to rejuvenation mode. All these will combine to even out my skin tone, reduce pore size, and firm my face at the same time.

In this laser process, I also didn’t feel any pain.

I detected a slight burning smell when Dr. Terence Tan treated my entire face because of the multiple small spots that required treatment. Fret not still! It’s just my facial hair burning up, and it’s not dangerous at all.

From the picture below, you can see that the bigger freckle had turned slightly red after the laser treatment.

After the session, Dr. Terence Tan told me although the treated spots will turn darker each day, there is nothing to worry about as it will resolve within five to seven days. In the meantime, I can still continue to put on makeup and use concealer to cover the spot!

I’m not that concerned with the dark spots because there are only 2 relatively small areas that are affected and I can still cover them with my concealer!

To ensure good recovery, Dr. Terence Tan told me not to expose myself to strong sunlight post treatment, and to put on proper sunblock till the dark spot dry up and drop off on its own.

Also, depending on the patient’s condition, more than one treatment may be required. Dr. Terence Tan also gave me some cream to apply over the next 3 days on both spots that turned red to make that it recovers well.

The Treatment that I did for Face Rejuvenation for Pigmentation costs $370 (includes GST).

Guess what?

I did the Treatment on a Monday, and the dark spots fell off entirely on Friday!

I’m really glad that it took only 4 days to fall off.

I’m sorry because I have no proper pic of the darkened spots, I simply cover up with concealer so it’s really not obvious!

In the following pic, I have pointed out the dark spots, on the last day before everything fell off. They have lightened up considerably.

And now, I have really clear and beautiful skin!

As for the spots, they’re gone within 1 session!

I now have clearer, brighter and less pigmented skin! I’m so glad I went ahead with this treatment with Dr. Terence Tan.

Filler Treatment at Halley Medical Aesthetics

For those who skipped the previous consultation post with Halley Medical Aesthetics , I strongly suggest that you read the first post, about the initial consultation, to learn more about some important information that can help you learn more before going ahead with facial enhancement procedures.

So here I am, back for the actual filler treatment!
In fact, I’m excited and glad that I went ahead with Dr. Terence Tan’s recommendations. Dr. Tan recap the last consultation session a little and he also let me know the treatment process.

In this blogpost, I’ll be sharing my Filler Treatment process.

He would be using Juvederm Voluma, Juvederm Volift, and Juvederm Vobella on the following areas on my face:
– Midface / Mid-cheek area
– Tear trough
– Marionette lines

What Dr. Tan would be doing is face shaping and contouring with dermal fillers.

He explained that this treatment will add dimension to my facial features and add volume to areas where it is lacking. Not only will this help me look more photogenic, it will also make me look less tired at the same time.

He explained that as people age, we lose facial volume and bone mass, which leads to a more hollow, sunken look in the cheek area. So by plumping up my mid-face area, not only will the fillers enhance my feminine features, it will also give me a more youthful look!

We started the treatment with the application of medical anesthetic cream on the treatment areas.

The anesthetic cream works well. It took approximately 20minutes before we proceeded with the filler treatment!

Dr. Tan used his “sandwich technique” for fillers.

For certain areas, Dr. Tan used this method which involves injecting Juvederm Voluma, which is a firmer filler below for lift first before injecting Juvederm Volift or Juvederm Vobella, which are softer fillers to smooth out the fine wrinkles. This will result in a more natural look.

Just before injecting the filler, the clinic assistant placed an ice pack on the treatment area to numb it further. This was to make sure that I have a more comfortable experience during treatment.

He started the treatment by placing the fillers in my tear trough and mid-face area. This is to smoothen out the fine lines and help make my dark circles less obvious. The fillers for the mid-face area will also plump up my cheek area as there is a lack of volume in that area due to my crescent moon-shaped face.

Next, he treated my marionette lines, which are the lines that run downwards from the corners of my mouth. Marionette lines can make a person look old so by inserting fillers there, he is giving me more youthful look!

For his filler treatment, Dr. Tan used a micro-cannula or “Magic Needle” for injecting the dermal filler. He explained that the Magic Needle is not actually a needle but a cannula. Not only does this distribute the filler more evenly as it is blunt and extremely pliable, it will also slide under my skin with minimal discomfort.

After injecting the fillers, we took another set of photos to compare how I look before and after.

As Dr. Tan was going through the difference, I’m amazed that it actually does make a difference to my overall appearance and face shape. It did address my concerns and the result turned out to be really natural!

I’ve placed the pictures side by side for your references:

The result: Definitely more symmetrical and my face is less long and looks rounder! (Which is what I want to achieve because I have a crescent moon face.) I never realised that my mid-face area is a little ‘flat’ and that with some fillers, he was able to make my face look less like a crescent moon.

The result: The fillers gave more dimensions to my face.

Right Side View:

The Result: My features look more enhanced and by filling in my undereye and mid-face areas, I look less tired and rejuvenated. The marionette line coming down the right corner of my mouth is now severely reduced too.

When it comes to facial contouring with fillers, Dr. Tan believes in injecting just enough and not over doing it. The result is subtle but I think I really do look better after the filler treatments!

ALSO, I HAVE ALREADY PREDICTED SOME OF THE FAQS THAT YOU GUYS WOULD ASK ME:

Is it painful?

Overall, I feel the discomfort level is mostly 2/10. Honestly, with the anesthetics cream, ice pack, and Magic Needle, it’ll provide enough comfort. What’s more, the Juvederm brand of filler contains lidocaine, which is an anesthesia, which makes the experience a comfortable one.

How do I feel after the treatment, are there downtime?

As mentioned in the consultation post, there is no downtime! I am able to feel the fillers, however, there are no marks left behind after the treatment. Basically, no one will know you have had fillers done unless you tell them.

Am I happy with the procedures?

I definitely am! It helped me A LOT in shortening my make up process. The fillers in the tear trough and mid-face area definitely made me look less tired, and this means I do not have to apply so much concealer. I feel MUCH MORE confident knowing that my face is more symmetrical now. It definitely does help in boosting my self esteem!

Is this a plastic surgery procedure?

Definitely not! There was no cutting or incision with any surgical knife and there was no stitching. There was also no downtime! It’s far from it. The best part is that I still look like me! I only did some mini enhancements to help me become a better version of me. It’s definitely a different procedure!

Well, if you’re having trouble with your imperfections and would like to do minor adjustments to your facial appearance, do not hesitate to go for a consultation! You never know how these small changes can help you in your everyday life.

I personally think that Dr. Tan is really experienced and skillful and you should look for him when it comes to facial enhancement treatments and he definitely give the best advice!

Facial Enhancement Consultation at Halley Medical Aesthetics

Recently, I went for a consultation at Halley Medical Aesthetics to see what can be done to improve my facial appearance.

The consultation is done with Dr. Terence Tan and the session turns out very well because he is both friendly and knowledgeable. He is able to immediately point out the problems that I’m facing and even make good guesses of which features are bothering me.

From my vague understanding before the consultation, facial enhancements can really do wonder, but it takes a real face-to-face consultation with an aesthetics doctor to determine what can be done to my face, then listing the different options available, and eventually, choosing the ones that delivers the results that I wish to achieve.

My biggest insecurities are mainly my dark eye circles and my crescent shaped face that caused my jaw to be uneven. For those who know me before, I used to have a slight underbite jaw and uneven teeth, which is really unsightly. However, I have already fixed the problem with braces, but my jaw is still slightly uneven! It’s been a issue for me because it affects my self esteem at times, wishing that I can be prettier.

Other smaller issues that i wish to eliminate are my moles and freckles. I have always dreamed of a cleaner face, without so many spots.

Initially, Dr. Tan discuss with me on the possibilities of removing the moles from my face. He mentioned that the smaller ones can be removed via laser treatments (It might take a few session). However, the bigger mole has to be surgically removed, which might leave a scar. Therefore, I have decided not to touch the mole above my mouth. Anyway, it is not too big of a concern for me.

Next, Dr. Tan suggested to remove the pigmentation that is on my left upper cheek. He said that he noticed it straight away, and guessed that it would definitely leave a deep impression for anyone that sees my face. And…. he is right! This pigmentation has been there since my primary school days and I thought it was a birth mark! It is definitely obvious and people did notice it on me. I will be glad to remove this pigmentation!

Lastly, Dr, Tan tackled my biggest imperfection, the uneven chin. In fact, Dr. Tan had gone the extra mile, to suggest the possibility of injecting Fillers on certain parts of my face to help me improve my overall appearance.

As seen in the picture, Dr Tan mentioned that he can insert a combination of Juvederm Fillers to rejuvenate my face and enhance my facial features. They include Juvederm Volbella, Juvederm Volift and Juvederm Voluma. The fillers will be inserted in the tear trough (undereyes) to lift the dark circles and eliminate the tired look.

It will also be used to fill up the lines that run down from the corners of my mouth (marionette lines) as well as the side of my chin to restore volume loss and even out my uneven jawline so as to give me a more attractive facial profile.

For those who are unaware, the Juvederm Fillers are made of hyaluronic acid, which is a natural substance that can be found in your body to help hydrate and add volume to your skin. That is why hyaluronic acid is very commonly used in filler treatments and is definitely safe and lasting. Some FAQS that i asked Dr. Tan as well:

Will it hurt?

Dr. Tan uses a “Magic Needle” which is actually not a needle but a really thin and flexible micro-cannula. Numbing cream will be applied as well to administer the aesthetics process. The Juvederm Filler also contains lidocaine, which is an anesthesia to numb the area during treatment. The process will definitely be bearable!

Is there downtime?

There will not be any downtime at all! No one will notice that you did anything unless you tell them in specific or wait for them to spot the difference!

Will i see the difference immediately?

Yes you will! but it’s so natural so strangers will never know you did anything to your face!

How long can these last?

It should last between 1-2 years, which differs between the type of fillers used. Sometimes, lifestyle and the quality of your skin affects the lifespan of the treatment too.

Any post treatment care tips?

No alcohol for the day, and also, avoid massaging your face for the next 24 hours. Other than that, everything else is fine!

After a detailed consultation, i have decided to go ahead with injecting fillers and to laser off the “birthmark” as well as some of my moles.

I love my NEW HAIR COLOR! It’s nothing fancy, but it’s one of the most chio ash brown achieved without bleaching my hair.

Recently, I visited J & J Hair Identity, Katong Hair Salon.

The process:

Here, this is a before picture, I haven’t been doing my hair for awhile.

After letting the hair color rest for about 30 minutes, i proceed to wash my hair. It’s nice that they did a head massage for me too, super relaxing!

Next up, they did a hair treatment for me. And it’s the first time i’ve seen a salon using a “hand gun” to spray steam on your hair for the hair treatment. It lasted for around 10-15 minutes.

Very much pampered, and i actually love the final hair color!

It’s actually an ash color like the pic below!
